Responsive Web MVP

The team at GoFish in Austin, Texas needed a web app MVP for their video-upload bounty program. They needed a lot of backend features, but wanted a lean solution that was also manageable.

We hired Pixel Rocket to build a proof-of-concept web application with a polished front-end and a manually functional back-end. The aim was to quickly achieve an MVP to test market viability before committing to full application development.”

Project Breakdown

In the end we built a WordPress-based web app that allows for easy management and creation of bounties, users, and the marketing site. The product allowed them to get a minimum viable product built in their timeline and budget that not only looked great, but functioned properly to support their marketing objectives.

Actualizing Client Goals with a Performative MVP

GoFish approached Pixel with the goal of testing their product’s viability and performance to understand how best to allocate future efforts. Few agencies understood this goal, offering over-
engineered solutions. Pixel not only produced an application fit for optimal UX/UI, but we were able to honor GoFish’s time and budget by delivering the project to scope and ahead f schedule. This allowed GoFish to more quickly understand users’ needs and solidify the deal version of the application.

The combined product offering of GoFish Cam and GoFish Bounty creates an immersive fishing experience that’s never existed before. Users are motivated to get out and fish to compete against friends, or for massive rewards. With the GoFish Cam, reel masters can share and relive their most exciting catches as well as validate prize-winning/record-setting catches. With the bounty system Pixel was able to generate, users can easily view which competitions are active and participate in record-setting fishing competitions.

World-Class Fishing UX

Users expected alpha results out of the beta application of GoFish Bounty. Associated with an industry-leading fishing camera and significant bounty and competition rewards, users expected nothing less than elite speed, visuals and performance from GoFish Bounty. This required a feature-rich application that could support life on the water. Pixel was able to provide a visually appealing, seamless and efficient user experience. This helped address any user concerns of legitimacy regarding the bounty system. Whether users were busy wrangling in a big catch or enjoying a nice day on the water, the application was designed with ease of use in mind.
